At first glance, Nura Rikuo seems like nothing more than a normal middle-schooler. In actual fact, he is grandson of Nurarihyon, master of a youkai clan. Having only recently resolved the hostilities between the Nura Clan and the Shikoku Yokai, Rikuo finds no rest as an ancient enemy of the Nura Clan, Haguromo-Gitsune, resurfaces. After 400 years of inactivity, Haguromo-Gitsune suddenly sweeps through Kyoto with overwhelming power. ~ translated and adapted from official site by Cranston
The world of Blue Exorcist consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible. However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exists within it. Satan is the god of demons, but there's one thing that he doesn't have and that's a container in the human world that is powerful enough to hold him! For that purpose, he created Okumura Rin, his son from a human woman, but will his son agree to his plans, or will he become something else...? After killing Rin's guardian Father Fujimoto in an attempt to bring Rin back to the Demon world, it led to Rin's journey on becoming an Exorcist in order to defeat Satan.
The series follows the adventures of the celestial spirit mage Lucy Heartfilia after she joins the Fairy Tail guild and teams up with Natsu Dragneel, who is searching for the dragon Igneel. A very good anime, interesting story, and awesome characters
One of my favourites from 2011
It may seem like any other magical girl anime but it has a much darker plot (I'd recommend watching to episode 3 before making an opinion)
Kaname Madoka is a second year student of Mitakihara City Middle School. One night, Madoka dreams of a mysterious dark haired girl struggling against a terrible evil; the next morning she discovers that the girl, Akemi Homura, has transferred into her class. This encounter will lead to an incident which will alter Madoka's fate forever.
Literally translates to 'We still don't know the name of the flower we saw that day.' Often shortened to AnoHana
Be prepared to shed manly tears, I found this to be a really well written drama
A group of childhood friends drifts apart after one of them, Meiko "Menma" Honma, dies in an accident. Years later, the leader of the group, Jinta Yadomi, has become withdrawn and lives as a recluse. An older version of Menma appears to him, and says that she must have a wish granted, though she does not know what it is.
The story revolves around a boy named Tsunayoshi Sawada who is chosen to become the boss of the Vongola Family. But Tsuna is a hopeless youth with low test scores and lower self esteem. The current boss of the Vongola Family, send Reborn( an infant hitman from italy) to train Tsuna.
Gosick takes place in 1924 in a small, made-up European country of Sauville. The story centers on Kazuya Kujo, the third son of a Japanese Imperial soldier, who is a transfer student to St. Marguerite Academy, where urban legends and horror stories are all the rage. There he meets Victorique de Blois, a mysterious yet beautiful and brilliant girl who never comes to class and spends her days reading the entire content of the library or solving mysteries that even detectives can't solve.
The series mostly focuses on Kazuya and Victorique getting involved in different mystery cases and their struggles to solve them, at the same time forming important bonds with different people. Eventually, the series shifts to the main characters' relationship amidst a turbulent conflict between two dominant factions in the kingdom.
Gon Freecs' father abandoned him as a baby in order to become a Hunter, an elite class with a license to go anywhere or do almost anything. Now 12 years old, Gon wishes to follow in his father's footsteps and become a great Hunter.
Another favourite from 2011, the main character Okabe is such a charismatic, funny guy and goes around acting like a mad scientist in his small group named the Future Gadget Lab. It turns much more serious throughout the series, lots of timetravel involved.
Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN, who has been doing their own research on time travel, tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.
